Event Description
Slovenia is a small country but it packs a punch when it comes to wines! The Celts & Illyrian tribes were making wine here well before the Romans came along and the Middle Ages saw a strong wine tradition from the Monastic populations.
Post Yugoslavia, Slovenia has emerged as a strong country with a clear wine identity but with well established roots to it's traditional past - the use of Slovenian oak for their barrels is a good example.
The wine scene is dominated by a mix of international & indigenous varieties meaning there is something for everyone: classic "European" style wines from the international grapes & intriguing, complex wines from their indigenous grapes. A wonderful wine-making country that is well worth exploring in more detail!
Your tasting will include: a tasting samples of six carefully selected wines, full wine notes & handouts, a 2 hour interactive presentation, with Q&A, led by our wine tutor.
